The ID
MVID| ˈem-vid |
nounplural MVIDsMedical Verification Identifier
1A permanent nine-digit number issued by Medvetta to one professional, practice or organization, under which their record is held.Written with a designation code in front of it: MV-RN-522118004.
2The address at which that record can be read by anyone holding the number."Put your MVID on the consult notes." · "She sent her MVID instead of a photo of her license."
3not a license, a credential, a certification, or permission to perform anything. An MVID proves nothing on its own. It says Medvetta knows who this is.
OriginMedvetta, 2026. From medical + verification + identifier.
UsageThe designation in front may change; the digits never do. A retired form still resolves to the same record.
MVID™ and Medvetta™ are trademarks of Medvetta, Inc. The term and the identifier format may not be used to describe any other registry or verification service.

Four things, each with a source and a date.
01LicensureEvery license you hold, by state and designation, confirmed with the board that issued it and re-checked on a schedule.
02TrainingInjectable, device and product training recorded with the body that delivered it and the date it was completed.
03AffiliationsWhere you practice and under whose medical direction, including the locations you cover part-time or on contract.
04ExpiryEvery dated record carries an alert window, so notice arrives while there is still time to renew.
The record belongs to you, the professional, not the employer.
Your MVID follows you between practices, across state lines, and through every change in designation. Each access is attributed and recorded. Submit a document once, then share its verified record with any organization you authorize.

The sequence
01Identify the professional
One MVID is assigned to one person. Before professional verification begins, identity is independently confirmed through a specialized identity-verification service. The nine digits remain permanent. The professional's designation is a changeable label, not part of the number. 02Confirm each claim with its source
Licensure is checked with the issuing board. Training is confirmed with the organization that delivered it. Affiliations are confirmed with the practice. Each source confirms only what it has the authority to confirm. 03Record what was confirmed
Every result names what was checked, the source consulted, and the date. A professional-submitted document remains labeled as submitted evidence until its contents are independently confirmed. 04Monitor what changes
Licenses and time-sensitive credentials are rechecked on a recurring schedule. New results are added to the record without erasing its verification history. 05Alert before a credential lapses
The professional is notified while there is still time to act. Authorized organizations relying on the record receive the appropriate status update when a credential approaches expiration or changes. What the record will state
Seven words, and no others.
UnverifiedMedvetta has identified the person and has not been engaged to verify anything. The resting state of a free MVID, not a defect.
Pending verificationPending source verification. Pending is not Verified and never rounds up to it.
VerifiedA named source confirmed the license, the designation and the expiry, on a date. Shown with that date.
UnconfirmedThe source was asked and would not confirm. A delivered answer, not a failure.
Dated verificationTrue on its date, not re-asked since. Repaired by a re-verification and by nothing else.
RevokedThe verification no longer stands, with the cause named.
SupersededA newer verification of the same claim stands in its place.
The boundary
An MVID is
A permanent identifier assigned to one professional, practice or vendor.
A record that distinguishes self-reported information from facts confirmed by named sources.
A public link showing current verification status and information authorized for display.
An MVID is not
A license, certification, or professional credential.
Permission to treat or a determination of scope of practice.
An endorsement or guarantee of competency, quality of care, or clinical outcomes.
The standard we hold
Medvetta's digital services are designed and tested to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA, and to remain usable with keyboards, screen readers, magnification, and voice control.
Last reviewed September 2026
The Americans with Disabilities Act does not set a technical standard for private businesses, and no authority certifies a website as compliant. WCAG 2.2 AA is the measurable standard we test against, and accessibility is a release requirement here rather than a one-time review.

Public MVID pagesThe verification page anyone holding a number can read.

Services we do not control
Parts of enrollment run on services operated by other companies. We require an accessibility conformance report from each and hold them to WCAG 2.2 AA in contract, but we cannot warrant software we do not build. If one of them blocks you, tell us and we will complete the step with you another way.
Report a barrier
If any part of Medvetta stops you, write to us and we will answer within five business days.
Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you use if you use one. We log every report with an owner and a remediation date, and we will tell you when it is fixed.
